Listening is Fundamental

Listening is Fundamental (LiF) combines a sample recognition game with bingo. Players listen to a series of sound bites from music history and match them with contemporary songs that sample them on a bingo card.

Born during the pandemic and coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, LiF creates opportunities for community building, uniting people to honor cultural legacies and showcase the evolution of music across generations.

Unlike traditional bingo, where winning is based entirely on chance, this game rewards skill and the love for the art of sampling, offering an exciting experience that celebrates music's diverse journey from past to present.

Virgo Season-Beyoncé Edition

Virgos were celebrated with an event highlighting Beyoncé’s entire discography, held during the height of her Renaissance tour. This two-night event was a sold-out success!

Pisces Season- Tyler, The Creator

Relive the magic of Tyler, The Creator's LiF edition, spotlighting his discography during the one-year anniversary of 'Call Me If You Get Lost'. Recently, he collaborated with Louis Vuitton on an exclusive capsule collection, making this event a special tribute to his ever-evolving artistic journey!

This is such a dope event, especially for a music historian like myself. The vibes are on point too. Egypt is a genius for this!

I think listening is fundamental is a great event to not only make friends, but educational in terms of how much of our current music is sampled from old songs I didn’t even know about. I also find joy in how much time and effort Egypt took to put this event together .
